  No package 'dbus-1' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables DBUS_CFLAGS
and DBUS_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

Here's my $PKG_CONFIG_PATH:
:/usr/share/pkgconfig/:/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkgconfig/

I had python2.7 pre-installed to my system (ubuntu 16.04). I need to run python3.x scripts. So for that, I installed from sudo add-apt-repository ppa:deadsnakes/ppa. But it was required to be installed from official source (build & install). I build from official source (3.7.4) as well.

And finally, while running the actual script, it was importing dbus package and from there I ran to an error.

Please help me out. I'm stuck for 2 days. I'll provide additional information when needed.

For Ubuntu 20.04 you need to install:

sudo apt install build-essential libpython3-dev libdbus-1-dev
1
ajax.enjoy On

you can try:

sudo apt install build-essential libdbus-glib-1-dev libgirepository1.0-dev
pip install dbus-python
