Understanding Digit Repetition in Phone Numbers

72 views Asked by At

I am currently working on a project that requires validation of phone numbers, and I'm curious about the potential repetition of a single digit within a phone number. In a typical phone number, how many times can a single digit repeat consecutively? Are there any specific rules or limits governing digit repetition in international phone number formats?

I have researched international phone number formats and standards to understand the rules regarding digit repetition. However, I couldn't find specific information on the maximum consecutive repetitions of a single digit. I expected to gather insights or references that could provide clarity on this matter.

Given that the area/international code is valid there is no official rule regulating consecutive numbers within phone number (in the US). However typically 555 numbers aren't given out because they are reserved for fiction use (officially this only applies to 555-0100 through 555-0199)
