I created a sitemap for my website that contains the below code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<urlset
xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"
xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9
http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/sitemap.xsd">
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/</loc>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/aboutus.html</loc>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/contactus.html</loc>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/careers.html</loc>
</url>
<url>
<loc>http://www.example.com/terms.html</loc>
</url>
</urlset>
My doubt is that what should be the name of the file that contains this code so that Google could find my sitemap file?
basically the site map file name is if XML then /sitemap.xml
but its not any issue if you use any other name but we have to add this to webmaster.
