I am trying to create a Bluetooth connection.

I can search for nearby devices but when I try to connect I get an error I do not understand:

getting below error on connectionFailed

connect_error, read failed, socket might closed or timeout, read ret: -1, java.io.IOException: read failed, socket might closed or timeout, read ret: -1

Another possible reason is the use of uppercase UUID. Replace the uppercase with lowercase UUID.

instead of this:

// Unique UUID for this application
private static final UUID SPP_UUID = UUID.fromString("00001101-0000-1000-8000-00805F9B34FB");

use this:

// Unique UUID for this application
private static final UUID SPP_UUID = UUID.fromString("00001101-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb");
