I need to copy a mariaDB database into a PostGres database. I'm working on a CentOS 7 server.

I wanted to try using pgloader, however, it doesn't seem to be stable on CentOS 7.

Now I'm trying to use pg-chameleon according to this tutorial. It installs fine, but after I change the my.cnf file, I cannot restart mariadb. I tried running the following:

service mariadb restart

And I get the following error:

==== AUTHENTICATING FOR org.freedesktop.systemd1.manage-units === Authentication is required to manage system services or units. Authenticating as: Cloud User (centos)

I try entering my sudo password here, but I get an authentication error.

I would like to know if I should be using a different command to restart MariaDB, as well as any recommendations on how I should go about moving my mariadb database. Has anyone used pg-chameleon successfully on centos?

Let me know if there is any other information I need to provide. Thank you!
