The previous dev for some reason saved HTML into the database with double double quotes, I don't get why he did that, any of you know of any possible reasons to store HTML with double double quotes.

I have searched for reasons on why HTML would be saved like this

Instead of saving like this

    <table style="border-collapse: collapse;"border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#ffffff">

The HTML has double double quotes like this

  <table style=""border-collapse: collapse;"" border=""0"" width=""100%"" cellspacing=""0"" cellpadding=""0"" bgcolor=""#ffffff"">

Any devs know the possible reasons for storing HTML like that in double double quotes, this is the first I ever saw?

Now when retrieving the HTML and re-displaying it I have to remove the double double quotes using str replace.
