I need to play a .mp3 file when a button is pressed.
I was using the same example from the documentation (https://docs.expo.dev/versions/latest/sdk/audio/) but when i run npx expo start
on my device the sound does not play.
This is my code:
import * as React from 'react';
import { Text, View, StyleSheet, Button } from 'react-native';
import { Audio } from 'expo-av';
export default function App() {
const [sound, setSound] = React.useState();
async function playSound() {
console.log('Loading Sound');
const { sound } = await Audio.Sound.createAsync( require('./assets/Hello.mp3')
);
setSound(sound);
console.log('Playing Sound');
await sound.playAsync();
}
React.useEffect(() => {
return sound
? () => {
console.log('Unloading Sound');
sound.unloadAsync();
}
: undefined;
}, [sound]);
return (
<View style={styles.container}>
<Button title="Play Sound" onPress={playSound} />
</View>
);
}
const styles = StyleSheet.create({
container: {
flex: 1,
justifyContent: 'center',
backgroundColor: '#ecf0f1',
padding: 10,
},
});
Any ideas of why the sound does not play on my device ?
