I tried to install HHVM on Mac OS X Yosemite, but it failed and at last I can not make any installation MacPort.

For example, if I try to install pear , with this command line:

sudo port install php55-pear

I finally solved my problem with two series of actions:

  1. with brew

brew tap homebrew/dupes brew tap homebrew/versions brew tap mcuadros/homebrew-hhvm brew update cd $(brew --repository) git reset --hard FETCH_HEAD brew update brew install hhvm --HEAD brew install ocaml brew link dwarfutils ocaml brew unlink libdwarf brew link dwarfutils ocaml brew link --overwrite ocaml brew link dwarfutils ocaml brew install hhvm --HEAD

and after...

  1. with macports

sudo port -v selfupdate port upgrade outdated sudo port upgrade outdated sudo port search ImageMagick sudo port install ImageMagick port selfupdate sudo port selfupdate

An important detail , MacPorts went from version 2.3.3 to version 2.3.4 in this update .

MacPort is now operational again.

sudo port install php55-pear won't install HHVM -- it will install the standard PHP5 engine, and then add the PEAR repository to it. Furthermore, from the error message, I suspect that the issue you're having isn't with PHP at all, but is something with the Python 2.7 package. You should take this up with the MacPorts maintainers -- it certainly has nothing to do with HHVM, and probably nothing to do with PHP at all.

If you want to try building HHVM on a Mac, I've been working on getting that up and running again. These directions on the wiki are, at the time of this writing, believed to work for HHVM master. You can give them a try, though no promises they actually will work, Mac support is still super experimental. (And they probably won't work until you get the MacPorts issue above sorted out!)

My error change.

I followed what is described in this post: https://trac.macports.org/ticket/40167.

I launched the command with success: sudo port clean all

And after this: sudo port -d upgrade python27

But, last result : Exit code: 2 Error: org.macports.build for port valabind returned: command execution failed DEBUG: Error code: CHILDSTATUS 70008 2 DEBUG: Backtrace: command execution failed while executing "system -nice 0 $fullcmdstring" ("eval" body line 1) invoked from within "eval system $notty $nice \$fullcmdstring" invoked from within "command_exec build" (procedure "portbuild::build_main" line 8) invoked from within "portbuild::build_main org.macports.build" ("eval" body line 1) invoked from within "eval $procedure $targetname" Warning: targets not executed for valabind: org.macports.destroot org.macports.build Please see the log file for port valabind for details: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_devel_valabind/valabind/main.log DEBUG: can not find channel named "debuglog" while executing "tcl::puts debuglog {DEBUG: Starting logging for valabind}" invoked from within "catch "tcl::puts $args"" Error: Unable to upgrade port: 1 DEBUG: Rebuilding port valabind finished with status 1 Error rebuilding valabind while executing "error "Error rebuilding $portname"" (procedure "revupgrade_scanandrebuild" line 395) invoked from within "revupgrade_scanandrebuild broken_port_counts $opts" (procedure "macports::revupgrade" line 5) invoked from within "macports::revupgrade $opts" (procedure "action_revupgrade" line 2) invoked from within "action_revupgrade $action $portlist $opts" (procedure "action_upgrade" line 25) invoked from within "$action_proc $action $portlist [array get global_options]" (procedure "process_cmd" line 103) invoked from within "process_cmd $remaining_args" invoked from within "if { [llength $remaining_args] > 0 } { # If there are remaining arguments, process those as a command set exit_status [process_cmd $remaining..." I try now classic code for test: sudo port install php55-pear

Result change but always failed:

Your pear install depends on this (broken) parts.

---> Found 7 broken port(s), determining rebuild order
--->  Rebuilding in order
      gcr @3.10.1
      ushare @1.1a
      valabind @0.8.0
      wget @1.14 +ssl
      geocode-glib @3.10.0
      strigi @0.7.8
      nepomuk-core @4.12.5

Following your error results, it stopped at updating valabind. What happens if you try:

port selfupdate
sudo port install -d -R valabind

If valabind is a dependency of your php install and has dependencies of itself, port is not able to handle this. Wether install nor upgrade acording to the man port page:

-R also upgrade dependents (only affects upgrade) - note that this
          does not upgrade dependents' dependencies

Check the home of valabind here as well.

A good idea for debugging is the port -y option.

-y Perform a dry run. All of the steps to build the ports and their
dependencies are computed, but not actually performed. With the
verbose flag, every step is reported; otherwise there is just
one message per port, which allows you to easily determine the
recursive deps of a port (and the order in which they will be
          built).
