asp.net web api elmah doesnt log errors to xml file

Question

I'd like to use Elmah for error logging for my web api application. Id like it to logg errors to my App_Data folder in web project. But this doesnt work currently. I initially installed just elmah. And could see error logs by visiting my localhost:PORT/elmah.axd. But nothing is being logged to App_Data. Then i searchedd online for help and installed Elmah.Contrib.WebApi. But this still didnt help. Below is my config file.

Your web.config file doesn't include any ELMAH configuration. Check out this ELMAH Tutorial on how to get started. The problem with the missing config, may be that your environment doesn't allow for PowerShell to run as part of installing the ELMAH NuGet package. If you run Get-ExecutionPolicy, what does it return?

Update: Follow the instructions in Configure elmah.io manually and configure the XML file error log:

As an alternative, you can set the execution policy in powershell before installing ELMAH:
